On July 22, 2017 Rusty joined our family and made our dreams of having a dog come true. Rusty was a friend to all, readily welcoming pets from anyone walking down the street with his cottony tail wagging so fast that it was a blur. He was an aficionado of socks and collected them from all over the house. He loved roaming the beaches of Pacifica as much as he loved a lazy day curled up in bed. Rusty was a best friend to everyone in the family and showed us a kind of love we had never felt before- excited, unconditional, and unwavering.
On May 22, 2019 Rusty crossed the rainbow bridge. We all learned so much from having this adorable apricot ball of fluff work his way into all of our hearts. Rusty always reminded us not to be in a hurry. He dawdled along wherever we walked sniffing every flower and twig as if he were engrossed in a novel. He taught us the joy of living in the present and was never afraid to remind us that it was time for a belly rub. Most of all, we learned to always have our hearts open to friendship and new experiences. We were Rusty’s second family and he loved us with all of the sniffs, cuddles, and love we could ever want.
