Magnolia

Magnolia

In memoriam:

Like all well-loved dogs, Magnolia went by any number of different variations of her name. Maggie. Mags. Maggie-Moe. Moe-Moe. Miss Maggie Moe. She didn’t care what you called her, she was just happy to be there.

Maggie came into my life in December 2017, just a few short months after I had to say good-bye to my 15 year old rescue, Lola. I was heartbroken and not ready for another dog just yet, but I saw a spot on CNN featuring Muttville and thought I’d check it out. Maggie’s beautiful, happy face graced the adoptions page, and I realized it was time to open my heart and home again.

I only had Maggie for a short year, but we had a lot of adventures together. She wasn’t much for walking, but she liked to chase birds and loved her toys. When she was really excited, she would pick up multiple toys at a time and parade around the house with them. She somehow thought she was a lap dog even though she weighed 75 lbs. When I got a job offer in my hometown of Chicago, we went on a wonderful road trip across the country together.

When her cancer returned in the Fall, I took her for a photo shoot to make sure her beautiful spirit would be captured forever. She loved posing for the camera and while I’m so sad today, I’m glad I have them.

A lot of the volunteers at Muttville told me she was a staff favorite, so I wanted to let you know that she was very well loved in her final year. Thank you for all that you did to take care of her while she was waiting for her forever home.

With gratitude,

Original profile

Hi! I am Magnolia! Are you my new best friend?

I am as gorgeous as they come! I am sooo loving, super affectionate, and very mellow.
I love meeting people and have been enjoying the company of all the humans at Muttville! I will spend hours at your feet and promise to be your loyal companion and friend. I am easy on leash and house trained, too!

After enduring life in a hoarding house with too many other dogs, I would love to have a home of my own as the only dog.

Magnolia is about 70 pounds heavy and about 10 years young.
