Hi Muttville,
I wanted to send a sad update that my sweet Reggie, whom I adopted in August 2017, crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. He was truly the most wonderful dog I’ve ever known. I’m so grateful to everyone at Muttville for allowing Reggie and I to find each other.
Reggie was a loving son, a cherished friend and uncle, and a beloved member of the community. He was kind to every person and animal he came across and could always be counted on for help – from licking the floors clean, to watching over me after a hard night out, to waking me up every morning with loud thumps of his tail and aggressive nudging. It won’t be easy going back to alarm clocks.
Reggie loved long walks, chicken, and rummaging through the recycling. Later in his life, when his legs grew weak, he loved rolling around town in his Radio Flyer wagon, with the breeze blowing through his wiry fur. Even in his late age, Reggie loved adventure. He traveled up and down the California coast, then drove cross country to a new life with me in the East Coast. He experienced snow for the first time (not his favorite) and ran free in the woods of upstate New York. He was happiest when he was around people, whether they were trusted family members or brand new friends.
Reggie was a constant source of joy and comfort. With his stumpy little legs and little hoagie body, he brought smiles to everyone on the street. There’ll never be another one like him. I’ll miss him forever.
Thank you Muttville for all of the work you do for dogs like Reggie, and for dog lovers like me.
Best,
Gabrielle
