I recently said goodbye to my sweet Lucy (fka Lucinda), just 13 months after bringing her home from Muttville.
Lucy’s last year was bright and happy, and she made it one of the best years of my life. People on the street often remarked “What a happy dog!” when we walked by—a true reading of her character.
She adored everyone, was curious about all dogs, and loved tagging along in the car or on the bus for whatever adventure I drug her along to.
Nothing slowed her down, including the lung tumor that went undetected until it was too late. Despite months of chemo, she remained perky, cuddly, and treat-curious until the very end.
Lucy was genuinely the sweetest, most loving soul, and I miss her dearly. I will never stop wishing we could have had a lifetime together.
