Frida (fka Phyllis)

I’ve had three rescue minpins throughout my life, with my last one passing away in July of 2024. Her name was Taco and she gave me a beautiful 14 years together.

As you can imagine I was completely heartbroken and told myself no more dogs for a long time as her loss took a toll on me. That was until a few months later, when I saw a quick video posted on YouTube of a sweet minpin named Phyllis. I knew right then that she needed to come home. I immediately submitted an application that Monday to Muttville and by Saturday I was driving to San Francisco to pick her up!!!

Now called Frida (Frida Bonita when she’s just being extra cute), she was named after my favorite artist, Frida Kahlo. Frida also means “peace,” which is exactly what she has given my broken heart.

She is the queen of the castle here in Oceanside. She’s an absolute sweetheart who loves to give kisses and snuggle. She enjoys her daily walks around the beach, and car rides to the store. She has a best friend named Zoey, and a cousin named Chata. But her favorite person is her Nana, who always seems to give her extra treats when I’m not looking.

I can’t thank Muttville enough for giving me my best friend. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart and I’m forever thankful for all the love and care Muttville does!

I look forward to visiting you all again in the future.

Many blessings,
Yvette Serrano
