It’s been about a month since I adopted Fizz (fka Hayride), along with his new buddy, Eggy Pop, from Peace of Mind Dog Rescue.
They have settled in nicely, and my kitty cat, Kiki, has also acclimated and knows how to navigate the dogs. Fizz is totally fine with the cat; Eggy is way more interested but because of his severe arthritis can’t jump to try to get her, which is good for everybody, haha.
Fizz was initially very reluctant to get up, and basically spent all his time in his bed, except when I carried him out. He is now on anti-inflammation and pain medication and it’s helped him tremendously. He figured out all on his own how to get out of the dog door at the top of my back stairs, takes himself downstairs onto the deck, and into the backyard….and back up!
He even runs around when we go to the grassy area by the marina here in Vallejo. Fizz and Eggy spend time snuggling together in one bed, and they both really love their food and snacks.
