Snowy

My journey with Muttville began in 2021 when I signed up as a Foster Care volunteer, matching fabulous foster families with senior dogs and taking on the exciting task of coordinating drop-offs and pick-ups! It was a fabulous tail-wagging adventure, as I was already fostering senior dogs at home. Each time I helped a senior find their forever home, it felt like a real win—until one furry friend strolled into our lives and stole every heart in the room.

Snowy

Meet Snowy, the superstar who strutted in from ACC in August 2022! Weighing in at a solid 78 lbs, he arrived with an ear infection, flea dermatitis, and a tail that couldn’t decide between happy wagging and uncertain hesitations from being in a new place. As soon as he popped up on our radar, I knew I had to bring him home—talk about love at first sight! There was so much buzz around his nomination for Muttville’s 10,000th dog, but all he knew was that he was finally surrounded by people who wanted to shower him with love and kindness.

After a refreshing bath and some soothing meds, he transformed into a butt-wiggling, tail-swishing bundle of joy! My spouse and I tossed around the idea of adopting him, but let’s be real— Snowy made the call for us. From day one, he was already in charge of the family. On walks, if we weren’t all strutting together in sync, he’d freeze like a stubborn statue until we were all walking together. Other pedestrians? They’d just have to take a back seat to our furry parade! He became the poster pup for what you’d expect by definition in a Labrador: family-focused, adaptable, friendly with people and dogs alike, and always up for some fun!

Two weeks into fostering, we officially adopted him, and he’s been a cherished member of the family ever since. Over the past two years, he’s joined us on countless adventures, and nowadays, he cosplays as my office therapy dog (no formal training required—just a knack for being nice to everybody at the workplace).

He continues to be Muttville’s beloved goodwill ambassador, participating in outreach events and leaving a trail of smiles and happiness. Adopting Snowy has pawsitively been the best decision we ever made! You can follow Snowy’s adventures on Instagram @mr10000snowy.
