Update | September 18, 2025
Hello Muttville crew!

I thought I would provide an update on Rosie, who was adopted last December. We just celebrated her 17th birthday this week (birthday was on previous records).
When my husband and I walked into Muttville last December, we fell in love with the place. We had recently lost our beloved dog and I had the desire to open our heart and home to a senior pet in need.
I had asked one of the staff members who was the long timer, the most overlooked dog currently at Muttville and I was directed to Rosie. I’ll admit, there wasn’t a spark when we saw her. She was just snoozing away in her comfortable bed and couldn’t care less about us being there. Regardless, we took her home.
Rosie has proven to be the spiciest dog we have ever had. We did not know what we were expecting. Rosie has two purposes in life, that is to devour any specs or resemblances of food and sleep. She is a monster when it comes to grooming. She’s an absolute terror when it comes to food, is a menace to society when she does not get her way, and we would not change a thing about her.
We love Rosie and all her adorable quirks. Thank you Muttville for providing a safe place for Rosie to land and for the addition of a queen to our household.
Kind Regards,
Rebecca Sanford
Update | December 15, 2024
It has officially been one week since we adopted Rosie (fka Posie) and I just wanted to provide you with an update.
The long car ride back to Oregon was a little worrisome for her at first. She barked for the first hour but then settled quickly in our laps for the rest of the 8-hour drive.
Rosie has integrated seamlessly in our household, which includes our house cat and foster kittens. She has gotten along with everyone she meets and she is a menace for food! It’s adorable hearing her grunts and growls when she wants my husband to share his food with her.
We have taken her to our vet already and she may have been a little cranky for the pokes, but treats definitely warmed her back up.
Rosie definitely has her own robust personality which we see more of everyday. She’s hardly had any bathroom accidents and when Rosie does not want to do something, she WILL RUN. I never thought this little 16-year old dog could have more than one speed but she has run around in our backyard dodging the rain before coming back inside. She will run for food if she sees it.
Rosie is such a character and she has brought so much joy to our lives. Thank you to Muttville for providing a safe place for her and allowing us to provide her with a home for her golden years!
Kind regards,
Rebecca Sanford
