A CBS news story introduced me to Sherri and Muttville in 2010 when my own adopted dog from the SF SPCA was seven years old, and had recently inspired me to launch Grouchy Puppy. I wanted to express my joy and gratitude for my own senior dog and called Sherri to ask what she needed the most.
She told me that many of her dogs did not have a lot of teeth and that they were short of canned dog food the most. This was when Muttville was still operating out of Sherri’s home! Sherri gave me three brand names of what the dogs were currently willing to eat without coaxing. I bought a bunch of cans, drove them to Muttville HQ which was her house then, and the rest is history!!
I love these two photos because it’s when we first met in person. I walked into her house in July 2010 and the modifications she’d made to securely and safely have these oldsters inside her home blew my mind.
