Dear Muttville!
I wanted to say thank you so much for finding Alfie (at his second shelter placement) and bringing him to San Francisco so we could adopt him. Over the past year, he has gone from a very reserved and impeccably polite house guest, who avoided grey-haired men, insisted on sleeping on the floor in a pile of laundry, and whimpered when I brought out the broom to sweep into a romping, must share your pillow cuddle bug, with lots of tail wags, face kisses, and an almost obsessive love of off-leash hikes.
We have had many camping adventures, daily squirrel chasing, one amazing squirrel catch (and release), a ton beach days, and of course infinite belly rubs. My cats LOVE Alfie, and are likely to be found sleeping next to him, and greeting in the European way (kissing both cheeks). We knew he was good with cats, but a new (and surprisingly fearless) kitten addition put that gentleness to the test and Alfie has passed with flying colors.
Our cup is full of laughter, snuggles, and the occasional dumped trashcan (to let us know we have been gone far too long, and not left sufficient foodstuffs).
I don’t know what I did to deserve such a wonderful dog, but it must have been something good.
