My wife and I officially adopted Arnold 2 years ago on July 29th and he’s such an amazing boy! He is happy, healthy and thriving and we are beyond in love with him!
I met Arnold when he first arrived at Muttville as I had just started volunteering about a month before. Because he is blind and had been a stray, he was confused and a bit shut down.
They kept him separated from the other dogs at first so he could have a minute to decompress and adjust to his new surroundings. He slowly became more comfortable and seemed to be grateful that we were all there to help him.
I made extra trips to Muttville HQ just to hang out with him and take him on walks. We became fast friends, he even showed me he knew ‘sit’ and ‘shake’!
I asked (pressured, insisted, maybe even cried a little) my wife if we could foster him, “he really needs a quiet, snuggly place to live until he finds his forever home” I said!
Well, she relented and I brought him home to meet our cats. That introduction went really well and it only took a few days for us to realize we couldn’t imagine living without him!
The last 2 years have been amazing! Arnold is the best boy, such a love, a great snuggler and SO smart! He knows his way around not just our home but also our neighborhood. Stopping at his favorite trees and meeting his friends from down the block. His favorite things (besides eating and snacking) are riding in the car to the park, snuggling on the sofa and playing with his squeaky toys.
He has enriched our lives beyond imagination and because of him we will forever be advocates for and supporters of the senior pups!!
Thank you Muttville for everything you do for the mutts!
