Makes our hearts smile! Thanks for sharing, Nioaka!
We adopted Bernie on Saturday, a day after my 16 and a half year old dachshund Frankie passed away. I got him when he was 14 years old. We had been thinking of adding another senior dachshund as both my dachshund and Chihuahua have health issues and didn’t have much longer life expectancy.
My old boy Frankie was my soul dog. I miss my Frankie so much. I felt like adopting Bernie was a sign. Bernie came around right in time. Bernie fit right into my apartment, he learned the doggy door in record time and at some point was crate trained because he walks into a crate (it was for foster kittens) and falls asleep on the bed.
Bernie doesn’t replace the loss of my Frankie, nothing ever will. But his sweet cuddly personality and silly antics (some of which remind me of my Frankie) make me smile during this difficult time. Thank you for saving him. I look forward to adopting from Muttville in the future.
