Happy Adopt-a-versary to Lemon! Her life is an inspiration – and she is still going strong at 17 years young:
Happy 3rd adoptaversary Lemon and your 17th birthday today.
Despite Lemon’s health issues with congenital heart failure diagnosed a year ago, she again steps up to be the perfect therapy dog.
Lemon helped both of us through transplant surgery and recovery. Her Mutt-mom was her Mutt-dad’s cross-match kidney donor, so both Mutt-parents were recovering after transplant surgery last June 2016. Lemon knew exactly who needed her most. She would go over to the one in pain and lied next to them so we could pet her. There is truth that petting a dog is good medicine for healing… along with laughter and hugs.
After Lemon getting us through 3 health issues this last 3 years, we know Lemon rescued us… without a doubt.
We’re praying Lemon will make it through another year to 18. And her 4th adopt-a-versary. Lemon had her annual checkup yesterday with all the labwork. The vet was so surprised she’s doing so well. We said she knew her job wasn’t over yet, she’s here for a purpose.
