Senior dogs can be great first family pets for your kids. Monty certainly proved this to be true! Thanks to Sarah for sharing their story:
This was the first time we were getting a dog with the help of our 2 kids. When we got to Muttville my wife and I had repeated over and over ’we’re only bringing home a dog if we find the right one for our family’
Well, as soon as we walked in, Monty came straight up to my wife and just stood quietly next to her while she and our oldest daughter pet him. He was so gentle and calm. We took him for a quick walk and as soon as we got him outside I knew we were taking him home. He has been a total delight to our whole family! He started off a bit shy and reluctant to eat, but within a month we caught him up on the kitchen table lapping milk out of a cereal bowl! Now he’s spunky and fun, racing around the house when we get home and jumping straight into the air when he sees us grab the leash! He is a perfect gentleman at the dog park, which has earned him the name “Sir Monty” :)
