Chubbs’ story is a perfect one for the holidays! Thanks to mom Shannon for sharing her mutt love story:
I adopted Chubbs 4 months after my 18 year old buddy Bandit crossed the rainbow bridge. I have a 15 year old Shih tzu named Brady who seemed to miss a doggie companion. I went to muttville after reading all the good things they do with senior dogs. I loved the headquarters it was open and inviting. I met Chubbs and he didn’t seem interested in me at first. I read on his profile that he takes a little time warming up to people. I noticed he loves other dogs. I loved that about him!! He loved Brady right off the bat and vice versa. He also is super cute and muppet like with his underbite.
We had a very bumpy start. It took Chubbs some time to trust me and he liked to mark his territory. Three months later I couldn’t ask for a more loving dog and he loves my crazy adventures!!! He loves Chrissy field, Fort Funston, and now Kayaking in lake Tahoe!! I still can’t believe he’s a senior. He has so much energy!! No matter where I go Brady and Chubbs come along. I’m so glad I adopted him that day and stuck through those first few months. He still has a little training to do but he’s my buddy and he has come a long way!!! He goes off leash at Fort Funston and we just had a successful day at Chrissy Field. He came when called even when he was playing with other dogs. He loves being with me and loves cuddle time. The recent kayak trip brought out his adventurous side. He liked the water so much he kept jumping in!! I bought him a life vest after the first day.
Thank You Muttville for taking care of my buddy until I had the strength to find him!!!
