Savannah Lee

Thanks to beagle lovers Lee and Cheri for making Savannah a part of their family. Here is Savannah’s inspiring story, as told in her own words:

Savannah Lee

My name is Savannah. My Mommy and Daddy kept my name because it was so pretty. They added Lee to it, so I’m officially Savannah Lee.

I’m a beagle, and I love to talk. When I first got to my new forever home, I strutted right into the house past these 2 other beagles. It seemed their names were Flash and Nash, and they thought cool, we have a chick in the house but I wanted nothing to do with them. I investigated my new surroundings, and after testing out the couch and bed, plopped myself right down and made myself at home.

I was a bit standoffish in the beginning, even I must admit, but hey I’m a girl, I’m allowed to be. My Mommy would call me pretty girl and I would do a slight sing with her. She always gives me lots of kisses, and I sleep by her at night, sometimes under the covers till I get hot then right next to her.

Those boys are still here and they share the bed too, but I haven’t established a connection with them yet, I tolerate them, and if I want to lay by them, cool, but if I don’t want them by me, I tell them.

Nash, the big one, is deaf, so I couldn’t figure out why he wouldn’t be intimidated by my growl, but I can sure put the scare in Flash. Boys! :) The first time Mommy and Daddy went out to the store for an hour, I got scared even though those 2 other beagles were there with me. Then they came home, that was the first time they heard me bark! I was so excited, I was barking and running all around the house, up and down the stairs. Maybe I was afraid they were going to leave me but nope they keep coming home to me. So now when they go out, I sleep on the couch like a good girl and let them know how happy I am when they come home. So now I talk a lot to anyone who comes into the house, that makes me happy cause you know, girls like to talk!

I have to say that I love my forever home and I know that my Mommy and Daddy will do everything in their power to make me happy and safe. I love my new home. Love Savannah. PS If any of my buddies are still there tell them Savannah Lee said hi and to keep faith that they will find their forever homes too!

From Lee and Cherie:
Savannah is a cool dog, she was quite indifferent to us in the beginning, I know she loved Muttville and her fosters, but she’s our baby girl now and I think she knows that this is her home now. She’s spunky and has a mischievous streak which I love. She loves all her stuffed toys and eating bones and treats. I’m so glad I did a senior rescue, the rewards of it are greater than I anticipated and the love this little girl give us always puts a smile on our faces. I hope Savannah is around for many years, at 7 or so, I’m thinking that we’ll have the pleasure of her company for many years to come.

Thank You Muttville, for Savannah and for all that you do for Senior Dogs.

Lee and Cheri…. and Savannah Lee too!
