Annabelle

Although Annabelle has crossed the rainbow bridge, Anna and her daughters forever hold a special place in their hearts for their special senior gal:

Annabelle

We adopted Annabelle from you almost five years ago. She was arthritic, grumpy, partially blind, mostly incontinent, and 100 percent deaf, but she could nap like a champ and do a mean impersonation of a duck’s quack. We loved her a lot.

Last winter, when Annabelle started to fade, my daughters and I had a difficult time hearing what the vet had to say: “I’m looking at this dog’s lab work, and I can’t figure out how she’s still alive.”

“She still enjoys barking and urinating on the floor!” We responded. We refused to put her down.

Annabelle hung on till spring, when even the girls and I could see it was time. We took her to the vet. She had a few treats, lay on her favorite blanket, and we encircled her as the vet did his job. She’s buried now in the yard. Her buddy Sunshine has a new puppy friend we adopted in October, but none of us will ever forget Annabelle. Thank you for bringing her into our lives.
