Alvin and Booboo

Our first success story of the new year comes from mom Erin who adopted TWO mutts! Enjoy!

Alvin and Booboo

I came into Muttville in August of 2013 with the intention of “maybe fostering” a dog. I guess if I had been honest with myself I would have known before I walked in that day that I would be going home with two dogs, Alvin & Booboo. For the two weeks prior to my coming to Muttville I’d been obsessively visiting the website, looking at all the beautiful babies, reading all the stories and learning about the story of Muttville. I shed a few tears in those weeks, looking at the stories and thinking about my chocolate lab Hunter who had just passed away a few weeks earlier, after a long and wonderful life.

I don’t know exactly what it was about Alvin & BooBoo that caught my attention on the website, perhaps it was that they had been through the shelter experience together and that they were bonded, Muttville wanted them to go to their forever home together and I knew it was less likely that they would get adopted immediately. Also, they were crazy cute! When I got to Muttville met them and immediately knew I had to take them home. Booboo just melted into my arms she was then and is still the sweetest little nugget you’ll ever meet. Alvin on the other hand was a bit grumpy, definitely protective of Booboo and had that dominant personality characteristic of a min-pin, and while his grumpiness has mellowed a bit over the months he is a heck of a character!!

It wasn’t but a few weeks after I brought home to foster that I knew that there was no way I could let the little muffins go to any other home, I just couldn’t imagine anyone else taking care of them. Very quickly my home became the “house of a million dog beds”, I turned it into a little doggie wonder land, I solicited my friends help to take care of them when I’m out of town for work (they really have two Mommies) or if I need some help during the week, I even got a dog walker to pinch hit and make sure they always get their daily walks.

Their adorable personalities emerged even more once they were with me for a little while, Booboo likes to delicately nibble on her blanket when she’s getting pets & lovies, she does the most hilarious little dance when there is food around, her tail wags so fast it is a blur to the naked eye and despite her eyesight issues, that girl can run! Alvin loves to burrow under anything, toys are his favorite thing besides food, he loves to sit on laps and give kisses and he is especially & deliriously excited when he’s on his daily walk.

I love them so much I can’t imagine my life without them. They have brought so much happiness and joy to my life. Muttville is such a great organization; I am so grateful that they rescued Alvin & Booboo and took such great care of them. Thank you, Muttville!
