Polly Pocket and Selma Lou are a lovable and affectionate pair of cuties who have won the hearts of all who meet them. They are gentle and sweet natured gals.

They love going on small walks and exploring her surroundings. They love to chill together and snuggle in a cozy spot for most of the day. They are both always up for making new friends and spreading love wherever they go. We always say, having 2 mutts is easier than 1, and this pair proves that to be true!

Here’s some notes from their foster:

These sweet dogs are the quietest dogs I have ever encountered. I have never heard Polly bark and Selma Lou only one time briefly when a giant squirrel was on my deck and I think she was protecting us! Otherwise these sweet gals never bark and are overall very quiet dogs. Even when I took them over to meet our very loud family basset hound they didn’t bark or howl back. Sometimes they have very quiet little snores but as snores go these are very quiet too!

I have found that the best tactic for these guys is to take them out every few hours to go potty. They sleep in a little dog tent bed and they never go to the bathroom in there overnight. When I take them out they both go to the bathroom right away so I think they understand the purpose of it. I think they are still learning to communicate when they need to go out-so I’ve put down a lot of potty pads. For them, I think it is a good idea to just give gentle positive reinforcement and preemptively take them out for potty breaks as soon as possible so they have positive feelings around this.

They are fabulous to walk on leash. They walk when I walk, stop when I stop, and are very polite about if they want to stop and sniff something-to the point that I will regularly stop and see if they want to sniff because otherwise they will just try to stay with what I’m doing! They like short little walkies. They are very good about being suited up for walks with halters/leashes too! Very easy and seem to like the experience and stay together well too!

They both have huge appetites and love to eat! They also love treats. They are both pretty thin-apparently Polly-so I think maybe they didn’t consistently have enough to eat in the past. They are very good/easy eaters and not picky-and would probably like to eat all day if given the opportunity! They are also very easy to give medicine too either in food or separate I think because they are just so into mealtime :)

They have been GREAT with my cat. Totally give her space, never chase or growl or bark at her, even if she growls at them! They are very good at sharing a space with other animals. Of all the dogs I’ve fostered they have been the best with the cat-and basically ignore her and back off when she gives verbal cues. So far they’ve been good with all other dogs they’ve met too-our family dogs-as well as dogs at work-I take them to work with me at a vet clinic and they are very polite with meeting other dogs.

These girls are the sweetest doggos. I love them. They have very sweet and polite demeanors. They can be a little shy and timid at first but warm up very quickly. They are definitely sensitive too. I think being gentle with them goes a long way and is best with them. They are very cooperative. They are good in the car-I put them in a little doggie car seat and they seem to enjoy the ride but are also happy to get to their destination! They are sweet dolls who deserve all the love in the world! And they are so cute and sweet with each other.
