Toast & Jam

Three years ago, Toast and Jam trotted into our lives and changed everything.

Toast & Jam

In March and May of 2022, we said goodbye to our two senior golden girls, Lulu and Pearl. The quiet in our home was unbearable—we knew we needed to fill it with love again, and we knew we wanted to rescue seniors.

Late one night that June, a post popped up on my feed from Muttville. Two little white floofs named Toast and Jam, with the most joyful smiles and those irresistible faces. I instantly knew—it was meant to be.

At their meet-and-greet, Jam leapt right into my arms, and Toast? He climbed on the couch and covered me in kisses before settling in like he already knew he was home.

A few weeks later, they officially joined our family.

They were underweight, and Jam had to have all her teeth removed. But we poured love into them, and they blossomed. That first summer was filled with pup cups, couch snuggles, car rides, and soft blankets—and honestly, not much has changed since ❤️.

They go nearly everywhere with us. They’re adored by everyone they meet (though Toast is proudly a mama’s boy), they read all day by my side, and they’re now a familiar sight on my social media—famous for Toast’s goofy grin and Jam’s iconic tongue.

Life with them is never dull. Our hearts are full. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: Seniors are the very best.

Thank you, Muttville, for giving us the best thing since sliced bread.

Love,

Kristyn & Matt
