We wanted to thank Muttville for bringing Zoozie (fka Nazook) into our lives. We initially visited Muttville interested in adopting another dog, but once we met Zoozie, we knew he was the one for us.
Our life together started with him asleep on my lap in the front seat of our car, which is exactly how he spent his last morning with us—peacefully asleep, enjoying one of his favorite activities.
The time in between was filled with so many car rides—his head out the window, determined to see all the sights and breathe in all the scents, even when we hit the freeway going 60 mph. He met ostriches in Solvang, watched the sunset in Sebastopol, sniffed through Yosemite National Park, walked amongst the Redwoods in Monte Rio, and so much more. He made the move with us from San Jose to Redwood City, and it’s hard to be in our home without him now.
Not only was Zoozie the best adventure buddy, he was also the perfect homebody. He was my partner in napping, claiming first dibs on his spot on the bed while we contorted around him, wondering if the mattress was really king-sized.
Our visitors weren’t safe from this either. It seemed that as soon as the air mattress was inflated, he was there, lying in the middle of the freshly made bed. He won over even our non-dog-loving visitors.
Zoozie made friends with everyone—except for our apartment’s maintenance guy, who was never forgiven for entering our apartment to fix the air conditioning. When out on walks around the apartment or standing in the elevator, he sniffed his way over to people and waited patiently, looking up for pats and attention with a peppiness that surprised people when they learned he was a senior dog.
We are so gutted to have said goodbye to Zoozie after only a year and a half. He was, and still is, so loved; he was from the moment he went to Muttville. Even after we adopted him, we always remembered how much his foster loved him.
Muttville, thank you again for bringing Zoozie to us and for all that you do for senior dogs.
❤️ Molly and Brannon
