A sweet tribute from Betty’s mom Nancy:
Betty
“What did I love most about her? Everything.
She was humble, astute, and perpetually kind-hearted. She had a quiet sweetness that made total strangers passing by dissolve into a smile.
At 8 years old with cancer and a 25% chance of surviving a year, Betty was technically unadoptable. But not to Muttville. You listed her before her diagnosis was conclusive and I instantly fell in love.
When her listing changed from available to hospice, I was distraught. I do believe you get the dog you’re supposed to have. It seemed undeniable that she was mine, if only for a short time.
Thankfully Betty had another plan. I’m eternally grateful to Muttville for facilitating my unexpected 7 yrs of devotion and delight with the most extraordinary of all girls. Every Muttville dog is perfect, but Betty raised the bar.
This was Betty’s (fka Mochi) original adoption profile on Muttville’s website:
Mochi is a big, beautiful gal that can’t wait to meet you! She brightens up every room she enters and we’re sure she’ll brighten up your life too! Here’s what Mochi’s foster has to say about this lovely dog:
“Mochi is super easy. She loves attention and belly rubs and is happy to go for a stroll. She doesn’t bark (though she snores) and she’s super house broken. She is friendly with everyone she meets and typically ignores other dogs we pass on walks. She is mostly afraid of cats and gives them a wide berth. She loves her puzzle toys and stuffies. Mochi gets overwhelmed by too much hustle and bustle, but she has easily gotten used to the environments we’ve explored. She meets me at the door, wagging and smiling. If you want a sweet, easygoing companion to hang out with, this is your girl. Nobody who meets her isn’t charmed.”
