Samuel

Hi Muttville,

It’s been 2 years since my wife and I adopted Sam (Samuel) and I can remember the minute I first laid eyes on him. He was curled up in a ball & wasn’t socializing with anyone. Having been in a previous shelter for a month & completely shutting down after the euthanization of his kennel mate, this sad pup’s story grabbed a firm hold of my heart. I can only imagine the fear & loneliness he must’ve been experiencing even up to that moment. But even that didn’t stop him from becoming a staff favorite. He was still a loving soul who was quick to show his submissive side and eagerness for belly rubs…. and when his handsome face looked up at me for the first time, cupid struck! OMG! Buddy, you are mine!

Samuel

Once we got him home he adapted quickly & already seemed happier. It only took 10 days before he just suddenly started playing with our jack russell mix. It was awesome. An old boy at 10, he was 14 lbs, ribs showing, had a heart murmur, a luxating patella and flinched if you attempted to pet his head. Nowadays though you would think he was another dog. At an energetic 20 lbs, he and his new brother play sooooo much! And there is no longer ANY evidence of his physical or mental problems! (YAY!) The vet even commented that he appeared more like a 7 year old! His days are now filled with long jogging trail walks, playing ball, chasing birds and squirrels with his brother in our big back yard, going on vacations with us, daily cuddles and of course deciding what to wear to impress the ladies!

Thank you Muttville for giving us another reason to smile every single day!

xoxoxo,
Manny & Beatrice,
The happy family
