We never imagined we’d be adopting a 13 year old miniature Schnauzer when we went to pick out our first foster dog. We had only a few dogs to pick from that day & we got a resounding “Ah, take Perla!” when we asked who we should foster. So she came home with us & 3 days in, we knew she wasn’t going anywhere! Epic foster fail! We’ll never understand how such a sweet, hilarious, beautiful, loving pup was abandoned at a shelter before Christmas, just before her 13th birthday. She also never imagined that we’d be blessed with nearly 3 whole years with her but we were. Perla passed away last night before her 16th birthday. We will always love her, will always be grateful for her-she made us laugh every day-and will always remember her with a smile. Mommy & daddy love you forever & ever Perla Bear:)
Original profile
Perla is a gem of a senior dog—so much so that we think her name should be “Pearl” instead of “Perla”! This cuddly fluff is feeling a bit insecure since she got to Muttville, and we can’t blame her. She was with her past guardian since she was a puppy and then dumped at Animal Care & Control right before Christmas for unknown reasons.
Perla’s spirit is a bit wounded, but with some TLC she will blossom in no time.
Perla is 13 years old and weighs about 15 pounds.
