Rocky Balboa

I never understood the love of a pup until I met Rocky.

That’s what Caroline wrote to us about her mutt love, Rocky. Thanks to Rocky, not only did she learn true love for a pet, Rocky is also the reason she adopted rather than buying a puppy from a breeder. Thank you Rocky!

Michael and I were in search for a breeder and were planning to purchase a new puppy after our wedding next February 2015.

In September, I walked into Muttville for a work meeting, not expecting to fall for Rocky Balboa. The first time I approached Rocky, he ran off but after giving him some time and I sat down next to him, he instantly cuddled up next to me.

I took a photo with Rocky and sent the photo to my fiance jokingly saying, “I’m here for a work meeting, but I fell in love with this pup and look who’s coming home with me!”

Michael surprisingly responded “Really? We got a dog?”

After learning more about Muttville & specifically Cuddle Club, I left and went about my day. I called Michael and expressed to him how much I wanted to give Rocky a new home and Michael agreed. I immediately went online and filled out the application.

Later that evening, I brought Michael to meet Rocky. From that point on we knew we wanted to adopt Rocky.

Rocky is the sweetest dog ever and we feel so lucky. I never understood the love of a pup until I met Rocky. Michael and I could not be happier to give him a home where Rocky knows and feels love all around.

Rocky has become an integral part of our lives – he has play dates with his buddy, April (Michael’s parents’ Shihtzu), and other days he goes to work with me or Michael and even stays at home where he lives to sleep all day (we watch him via a video cam that Mom and Dad set up for him). Rocky has truly brought a different meaning to unconditional love.
