This dog’s adoption fee has been generously sponsored!

Zoe is a gorgeous 8-year-old 72 lb Shepherd mix ready to spend her golden years surrounded by love and comfort. While she’s a bit nervous around other dogs and needs to be the only dog in the home, Zoe has made incredible progress at the shelter, learning alternative behaviors and redirecting her focus like a champ.

Zoe’s personality shines brightest when she’s with people. She’s amazing with children and thrives on cuddles and quality time. A true couch companion, Zoe loves lounging around but also enjoys a relaxed game of fetch to keep things fun and active.

She dreams of a forever home with a backyard where she can bask in the sun and play at her own pace. If you’re looking for a chill, affectionate, and loyal furry friend, Zoe is the perfect match. Come meet her today and see if she’s the one to complete your family!

Zoe has been spending time in a foster home while she waits for her forever family, and her foster parent has nothing but glowing reviews of her houseguest:

“Zoe is a loving, smart, and well-behaved girl who’s been an absolute joy to have around. You’d never guess she’s a senior—she joins me on 6–8 mile hikes, the occasional jog, loves fetch, puzzles, and has amazing endurance. She’s also great at relaxing and entertains herself calmly while I’m at work.

Despite being home alone all day, she’s never chewed or counter-surfed—she even left a lamb ear untouched on the counter! She’s quick to learn routines, very food-motivated (great for training and redirecting), and her dog reactivity is improving every day.

Best of all, she gives the sweetest welcome homes, wrapping her paws around your shoulders and smothering you with kisses.”

She is available at the San Francisco SPCA

Foster-to-Adopt!Think you and Zoe might be a match, but you want to do a trial run at home first?

You can foster Zoe—meaning you’ll take them home for one week with the intention of adopting them at the end of their stay. If things don’t work out, you can always bring them back to us. If you’re interested, come see us or contact us at adoptions@sfspca.org to learn more.

As of 7/30/25 Zoe is still looking for a new home.

This is a courtesy post. Zoe! is not a Muttville dog. If you are interested in adopting Zoe! and want to learn more about her, please contact: adoptions@sfspca.org.
