Zab

Zab

#13248
Chihuahua, Short Coat
Male
10 lbs (small)
Status: Adopted

Zab is a zesty little tan and white chihuahua that is full of life, containing far more energy, pep, vim, and vigor than you’d expect in a 10-pound pup. He has such big feelings that they cannot be contained in his teeny body, so they spill over in the form of wiggles, tail wags, and excited little squeaks. Zab seems thrilled to find himself at Muttville (and who wouldn’t be?), but he sometimes comes on a little too strong when meeting new mutts. He’s just such a friendly little fellow that he thinks nothing of getting in another dog’s space with an enthusiastic, “Oh my gosh, HIIIIIIII!” While some are charmed by his effusive greetings, the more introverted pups might feel overwhelmed. Zab remains undaunted, though, as most humans respond appropriately with a chorus of awwws and pets and scratches, which is surely what he’s going for. Zab is approximately 10 years old, but you’d never guess from the ebullient way he zips and zooms around. There’s just so much to explore and so much to do that he simply cannot sit still. Although we’re sure he does, on occasion, because all senior dogs enjoy a good snooze from time to time. If you are looking for an energetic little lovebug to accompany you on all of life’s adventures, come meet Zab today! He’s a busy guy, but we’re sure he’ll find time in his schedule for you.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Overall Zab is an incredibly sweet boy and a total lovebug! He is quick to walk up to anyone to ask for some pets. His favorite activities include: eating, cuddling up on the couch, snoozing in sunbeams, rolling over for belly rubs!

He’s pretty clever and eager to please so while he doesn’t know many commands, he is quick to pick up on them. He is very food motivated, meaning easy to train. He is friendly with both men and women He’s very friendly and wants to say hi to all dogs too (regardless of size), but have not had a chance to interact yet.

He doesn’t show any interest in toys. Is happy to go on short walks. He will bark when familiar people enter the house but only because he wants to say hello to them. He only knew ‘sit’ and ‘no’ when he first arrived, but he has quickly learned other commands like ‘off’ and ‘in’. He is a great eater and is quite food motivated. He loves the taste of peanut butter.
