Xander is a sweet, loving, almost 7yo miniature poodle Who weighs 15.7 lbs. He loves people, walks, and above all, laps to sit on. He can be playful and energetic, but also likes to rest on his own. He loves to play with his favorite stuffy, as well as go on hikes in the woods and has excellent recall. He knows basic commands, including sit/stay/down/leave it. He is compliant with teeth brushing, vet visits, grooming and taking medications. He has lived with an adopted poodle sister for most of his life and they enjoy each other’s company. He can be less open to dogs he doesn’t know, and barks at stranger dogs on the leash. He is not a dog park kind of guy. Older children may be fine. No cats.
Xander has significant food and dust mite allergies and has dry eye disease (managed well with drops). He needs a low dust home that can manage his treatment plan (pills) and take him to vet appointments when needed. He is on a special diet. We have started immunotherapy which may reduce his symptoms over time. Pet insurance transfers with him. It breaks our heart, but a human health issue is preventing us from keeping him. He will give lots of love in exchange for your care. Must be able to meet in Oakland area to see if it is a match.
