Something about this amazing mutt is so special, it’s hard to put our finger on it; he’s got a certain je ne sais quoi, or as some might say, the X Factor! This mostly hairless mutt has a STUNNING lion mane, and we think he might be a mix of yorkie and Chinese crested. He’s had 12 years to perfect his ideal hairstyle, and we may be partial, but we think he nailed it! X Factor is an incredibly friendly furball, so he’s looking for friends that match his energy. Although you may not know it, your day to day could be missing that X Factor to take it to the next level. If your life has been feeling a little lackluster, we here at Muttville have the cure: add in the X Factor
Here’s some notes from his foster:
First of all, X Factor is a wonderful and happy little guy. He has a few quirks but nothing extreme as everyday he gets more relaxed in our home. I haven’t heard him bark. He is potty trained and has had no accidents in our home. He does prefer to go on a walk rather than potty outside in our yard. He also likes to walk, so he would need someone who can take him outside a few times a day on a good walk.
He is a great walker, doesn’t pull the leash nor stop to mark every tree/bush. We have passed other people and dogs and he doesn’t seem to care much more than being curious and he is very curious. He knows basic commands and listens when you tell him to do something, he is pretty smart. He sleeps through the night on a bed next to ours.
He is great in the bath. He is good in the car if he can see out the window so I have a doggie elevated car seat for him. He can jump and use stairs but he prefers not to – we have observed that he may have some lower back stiffness as it appears when he tries to sit. I think that is why he doesn’t want to use the stairs much. His hearing seems to be good but his vision may be a little off as he cannot tell if the screen door is open. We have taken a slow approach with him and have never tried to pick him up if he didn’t want it, and for that he has appreciated it and has gotten more open with us.
I think his perfect home is with someone or family that will respect his slow approach and can take the time with him. He also has the cutest blep and will sometimes do this quirky thing by showing his teeth when he doesn’t like how something smells. We call it his “ewww” face. Overall, he is spunky and very loving.
