Waverly, a terrier with movie star looks, is one of life’s satisfied customers. She loves people – their laps, treats, cuddles and attention – and their dogs. She’s got lots of energy and a playful streak, a dog who might inspire you to get out of bed in the morning but also convince you to skip the gym for a bagel at the dog-friendly place near the beach. She takes the stairs, which is good for both of you, and is a strict follower of the Golden Rule, especially when it comes to affection. All good! Meet her today.

Here’s some notes from her foster:

As you can see, Waverly is a precious and precocious little fluffball. She is an absolute sweetheart who enjoys being on or adjacent to a lap. Watch out because she may steal a kiss right along with stealing your heart.

She is very polite in and around the home and knows to go outside when nature calls. She will let you know when somebody’s at your front door, but doesn’t bark much otherwise. She loves going for walks and has a great level of energy. She would enjoy being in a home where she can get out and explore each day. She has excellent mobility and can get on and off most of the furniture by herself.

One note on walks is that we have noticed she seems to really want to say hello to every dog and let’s you know by barking and pulling towards them. This reactivity can usually be improved with a bit of work and time. Her Foster mom lives in a very dog abundant neighborhood, which may be leading to a bit of overstimulation with the amount of dogs, so that may be a contributing factor.

That said, at just under 10 pounds, she is a very easy dog to manage and can be scooped up if needed. She’s a really lovely girl, and while she currently sleeps in the living room at her foster house, she would also love to sleep near her humans or even in the bed should they allow it. A dog with Waverley‘s super soft and lovely coat does need to be regularly brushed and will require periodic grooming.
