Warby

Warby

#8070
Terrier Mix
Male
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Warby is a total CUTIE!

He is on the younger side of senior and should have plenty of energy for walks and adventures. He is a chill dude who loves to be the King of his castle and would prefer to be an only dog in a calm home.

Warby is loving and enjoys affections, and is so happy to follow you all around. He can get overwhelmed when in new or scary situations, or with obtrusive handling before he knows you. Because he is a delicate flower, we believe he will be most comfortable in a quiet, mature home without young children. He loves yummy treats like string cheese, which helps him know you are his type of friend. He is a very cute boy with pigeon toes and the perfect amount of scruff. He is quite the charmer!

Warby is estimated to be 9 years young and weighs 10 lbs.

HERE’S WHAT HIS FOSTER HAS TO SAY!

Tiny but mighty! This fuzzy little guy has been through a lot in the last few weeks — being a stray, taken to Muttville, picked up by me, and a big dental surgery less than a week later — and his tail keeps wagging. Warby has a lot of love to give and a big capacity for it, too! He sticks close to me at all times, even keeping guard while I’m in the shower. He’s a great companion and a good walker. He lives for pets, especially back and chin scratches, and his gratitude for affection is obvious.

Warby has a shy side, which is not surprising given all he’s been through as a small dog in the big world. While he generally can be picked up and carried easily, he isn’t a huge fan of fast movements or being rustled out of a deep sleep, sounds like most of us, right?! He’ll need some patience with alone time training and introductions to new people in his house, we’re working on both of these and he’s making strides!

Warby co-exists peacefully with our dog, and we believe he is good with cats. His house-training is good, although I give him little room for mistakes.

My heart melts whenever I look at him sleeping on his blanket or dancing in anticipation of cheese treats (his favorite!). He deserves peace and happiness and delivering it is beyond rewarding. The best home for him will be a calm one where he gets lots of attention from gentle grown-ups.

MORE FOSTER NOTES!

After two weeks, Warby has wiggled and wagged his way into the heart of our household! He is more comfortable, less sensitive and very affectionate, delighting in belly rubs, walks around the block, and naps on our roof deck.

He’s figured out a way to jump onto his favorite piece of furniture and found another other favorite spot in our blanket basket. He’s trying his best to get me to do his bidding at all time, encouraging me with pirouettes and pointed glances toward the door when he thinks it’s walk time. Occasionally, he’s get impatient and speaks to me with a little “wow wow wow” when he means business.

He’s a friend to all in the household. He’s even won over my husband, who has dog allergies and is thus wary of canines!
