Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome to Muttville the statuesque stunner: Volley! This lovely chihuahua lady is very demure and very mindful, but her quiet serenity should not be overlooked. This sweet girl has the posture and bearing of a much more majestic dog breed, and we suspect that she might be mixed with some greyhound. This is most present in her pointy snoot and overall demeanor, but, while she may be more intimidating than you’d expect a 7-pound pup to be, she’s a total softie. Volley has been wonderful with the other doggos, she’s polite and a tad shy, so more of a wallflower than the life of the party, but when she comes out of her shell, she is something to behold! She’s also been getting along swimmingly with our volunteers, and it is a great honor to be chosen as the one whose lap Volley seeks for a cuddle. This dainty damsel will be perfect for a calm home, but she shines with a quiet inner light that will make your life much richer for it. Volley initially may be a shy girl, but not for long. She’s a very loving and affectionate lady. She seems to be fully potty trained, as we haven’t had any accidents even with potty pads out. She’s not a big walker, while I believe she can walk longer, she doesn’t seem interested. Her routine is to do her business, walk for a few sniffs, and then lead you right back home.
She’s a great leash walker, no pulling, no barking while passing people or dogs. She’s fine to take the stairs or an elevator. We have not heard her bark at all. She’s a very quiet girl, she whines a little to communicate for love, bathroom, etc. She really enjoys curling up in a bed next to you or on your lap throughout the day.
She’s very affectionate with my boyfriend; he’s her favorite, she paws at his leg and cuddles into his chest and watches his every move and only follows when he’s been gone longer than she likes. It’s very sweet. At night, while she prefers to sleep with you, she will sleep in her own bed the whole night, but if you invite her to bed, she definitely won’t say no.
