Vogue is a small poodle mix who carries herself like every walk is a casual little event. She likes to stay in good shape and is always up for getting her steps in, but she is not in a rush about it. Expect plenty of sniff breaks and the occasional pause to take in the scenery. She is friendly with other dogs and has that easygoing, social energy that makes group walks feel smooth and fun. Vogue has a hint of diva personality, but in a very entertaining, low-key way. She knows what she likes, goes with the flow, and somehow keeps things interesting without trying too hard.
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Vogue is a calm, sweet, and gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be with you. A few soothing pets, some love, and patience is all it takes to win over this adorable little muppet with the most heart-melting puppy dog eyes. Within a day, she’ll be following you around the house and napping by your side.
If you’re looking for a hiking or running buddy, Vogue is probably not the right fit. Her most active days appear to be behind her, but she will go on short, easy walks in the yard or slow neighborhood strolls, where she can sniff at her leisure. We also learned recently that she likes the beach!
Vogue is fine being carried in a pouch and dog backpack (we tried a stroller, too, but she didn’t prefer it). She can be a little nervous in a car, but if she’s on or next to someone, she calms down quickly. She is housetrained and has quickly learned how to go through our bug screen to the yard whenever she needs to use the bathroom.
Vogue was easy to integrate into a home with dogs but she probably won’t be a play buddy. She was found stray with two other small dogs and has been seen at Muttville HQ snuggling closely by them. But at my house, she hasn’t shown any interest in interacting with our two larger dogs, nor with a smaller dog at a friend’s house. Vogue appears to prefer the company of people.
When we brought her home, she was a little shy and shut down, but in a few days, she really came out of her shell and has been blossoming on a daily basis. She’s wagging her tail more and asking for pets. She follows me from room to room, preferring to be close by, if not right next to me.
