Velveeta

Velveeta

#7545
Chihuahua Dachshund Mix
Male
Small (6-20 lbs)
Status: Adopted for hospice care

Despite his name, this all-American boy is not cheesy.

He is 100% sincere about finding a new home and a lap on which to park himself. He has a gorgeous tan coat and is a large chihuahua mix. Velveeta is very comfortable, and goes well with both macaroni and crackers. If you are off dairy at the moment, you might reconsider when you meet this handsome fellow. He would love some regular exercise, a balanced diet, and someone to love forever.

Velveeta is estimated to be 11 years young and weighs 18.5 lbs.

Velveeta’s fosters have to say:

I’ve just had Velveeta for one night, but he has been great with my current doggie who is 8 years old and has lots of energy. My guess is he would do great with a doggie closer to his age as well. He hasn’t barked since I’ve been in the house with him. I ran some errands last night and asked my neighbor to keep an ear out to see if she heard any barking and all was quite while I was gone.

I took him for a walk this morning and he does fine with a leash. My other little guy loves to walk very fast and Velveeta moves at a slower pace, but seems to do good if I go at his pace :)

Velveeta is a complete cuddlebug! He’s a little shy but easy to win over once you put him in your lap. He has a very low activity level – this may change as he loses weight, but right now his size makes it a bit hard for him to walk. He is great with other dogs! He has tried to do a bit of humping, but will stop immediately if we tell him & usually is pretty chill. He’s a bit a little nervous (a little scared of loud noises & new people) but may be because he’s in a new space. His house-training is amazing! Velveeta seems to be doing great with a morning/evening/midnight walk schedule & also knows to use pee pads in an emergency.
