Sad, sweet Velma Lou, was picked up as a stray, skinny and flea ridden. She was really shutdown but has come out of her shell in such a big way. She loves long walks and has gotten the chance to run on the beach with other dogs (though eventually she curled up and napped in the sand).
She is her foster mama’s shadow around the house and loves to be in the same room as her, she also has a squeaky toy that she likes to play with and often carries from room to room as she follows her around, though she is still very independent. Velma is great with other dogs, though nervous when they get in her face too much. She has also learned to sit on command and is learning how wonderful and loving people can be. She is great in
the car and completely housetrained too!.
She walks easily on leash, we think she is about 10 years old and weighs about 20 pounds.
We want her to find a gentle and loving home.
