Varsha is a nine-year-old cattle dog that was found wandering the mean streets of Oakland. She was covered in scabs, hunks of hair missing, frightened and wary. A good Samaritan took her to Oakland Animal Services, however the workers knew she had little chance of getting adopted and euthanasia was a very real possibility- her age and her condition were working against her.
Thankfully they contacted Muttville right away.
We took one look into Varsha’s soulful sad eyes, saw her loving demeanor, and we said, “Yes!”
We knew she would make someone very very happy.
It was an auspicious moment for Varsha, and one for Muttville, too, because sweet Varsha is Muttville’s 2000th rescue! Check out our “2000 DOGS RESCUED!” celebration pages in honor of our big milestone.
