Turtle may share a name with a slow-and-steady friend, but don’t be fooled — this little guy is spry, agile, and always ready to roll. A quintessential lap dog, Turtle thrives on human affection and considers cuddling a full-time job. At the same time, he’s a wonderful pal to his fellow mutts, greeting everyone with easygoing charm. Turtle is a fantastic walker and loves going for strolls before happily curling up where he belongs — right in your lap. Equal parts social butterfly and snuggle pro, Turtle is ready to be your constant companion, wherever the day takes you.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Meet Turtle!
This sweet boy may start off shy, but he’s easy to win over with kindness and gentle affection. Once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly loving and loyal—following his person everywhere, asking for belly rubs, cuddles, kisses, and even offering the occasional full-on dog hug.
He does wonderfully on walks with no leash reactivity and is friendly and polite with other dogs, both outside and in the home. He’s moderately food-motivated and refreshingly well-mannered around meals, but he absolutely loves squeaky toys. Being close to his human is his favorite place to be, especially at bedtime.
Like many sensitive dogs, he can be vocal at unfamiliar noises and shows some mild resource-guarding around his favorite person, which is easily redirected and does not escalate. He would thrive in a home where someone is around often or willing to help him build confidence. His potty training is mostly solid and does best with 3–4 walks a day, including a short bedtime walk.
He’s a gentle, affectionate companion looking for a patient, loving home where he can truly bond and feel secure.
