It has to be said: Turner is a head-turner. Tall, dark and darling with sharp white eyebrows and muzzle, he takes handsome up a notch with his red socks and highlights. His legs are long and agile, just right for stairs and long walks. His ears look like fur wings that might work in a strong wind. He loves a good time, always up for playing with humans and canine friends. And his manners are just dandy! He has a "sit to die for. Get him now before a modeling agency snaps him up.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
When they said “Man’s Best Friend” – Turner understood the assignment. This guy has ultimate “just happy to be here” vibes and could probably flourish in any type of family. I think he would do great with older kids and other dogs, or be someone’s special solo companion. He loves to see dogs on our walks and say hi, but is totally cool with his foster brother not wanting anything to do with him. He has energy for play time and walks (he out walks his foster brother but is fine patiently waiting up), but if you are focused on something else he is happy to chill and stare at you with his adoring eyes.
His favorite pastimes include burrowing under blankets and covers (if the choice is on a blanket or under it, he wants under), repeatedly nudging anyone and everyone for more pets, and hogging the whole bed.
He might do best in a home with only older teens or adults because he does not seem to be a fan of rough housing. He will let you know when he doesn’t feel like playing! He does not like my big dog’s attempts to play with him (play bows, pawing near him, etc.) he really hasn’t minded my dogs at all and shows appropriate responses and communication with them. When they’ve been barking at a delivery person or someone at the door he’s let out one or two soft "boofs but is very quiet and not at all yappy.
He has enjoyed his meals a lot but has not been very treat motivated. He has passed up on or spit out most treats I’ve given him, with the exception of very small soft treats which he eats about half the time. He does have a good appetite for his food at meal times.
He loves the yard, and runs through and rolls over the grass. His signature move is to kick up dirt and grass with his hind feet after peeing.
His upper lip sometimes gets stuck on his teeth, giving him a funny accidental snarl of sorts which is precious.
He has had no accidents, has slept through the night in my kid’s bed; and displayed great potty habits.
Due to his chill, loving, low-drama demeanor he is a great dog to bring out to dog-friendly breweries, restaurants, etc. but due to his small size requires a little more supervision to make sure he’s safe. I also think he’d be a great dog to come to work with someone or to live somewhere with shared walls like an apartment since he’s not barky.
When people come home Turner leads the greeting squad, jumping up and down and ready to catch up on cuddles his missed out on while you were gone. He loves wagging his little stub of a tail enthusiastically!
He is a good mix of mature but down for a good time! He loves to jump on comfy surfaces and does so quick and gracefully. He loves to SNUGGLE and will be your own personal Turner blanket at night. If you’re looking for a loyal snuggle bug with plenty of life and love to give- Turner will love to be your furever family.
