Tula

Heeler
Female
Medium (20-50 lbs)
Status: Available from another shelter

Tula is a 13 year old heeler that was given to our care by a friend of the previous family after she was left with them for two months. The family was unable to continue care and was not able to contact the previous owner before they brought her into the shelter. In the temporary home Tula interacted with the grandkids as well as the other animals and did fine if just a little overly excited. No alterations occurred during that time either as a result of her crazy cattle dog temperament, but the person did note that she had a large growth on her leg/shoulder that would bleed if she got too rough during play.

Since arriving at the shelter Tula has been the perfect potato. She is always happy to see staff and volunteers, rolling over to ask for belly rubs when you even make eye contact with her. Our Medical Director was able to do an exam on her and diagnosed her with a bilateral inguinal hernia and noticed that she has glucose in her urine with a low urine concentration. The mass on her leg is possibly malignant, but without doing a biopsy we are unsure. We are open to running more diagnostic tests to determine concrete information if we have the option to transfer/adoption.

Basically we are just hoping to get Tula to a place where she can be happy and live out the rest of her days/months/years enjoying life and belly rubs.

Tula is currently in Cheyenne, Wy

This is a courtesy post. Tula is not a Muttville dog. If you are interested in adopting Tula and want to learn more about her, please contact: 307-212-5317 or the Cheyenne, Wy Animal Shelter.
