Who says seniors can’t rock bangs? They can! Just look! Troy is a spry Shih Tzu-Maltese teddy bear with a human face and so much love to give. What’s that? Um yes, a human face. It’s the eyes. Or maybe the lips. We’re not sure what went on in his lineage, but does that really matter? Ok, back to Troy’s canine qualities: he loves long walks, is full of pep, and gets along beautifully with fellow dogs…and fellow people.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Troy is a super cute ball of white fluff with an extra poofy tail. He loves hanging out where the action is.

He is fully housetrained. He is extremely nice about letting me sleep in as long as I want. No medications. Healthy amount of eating. He loves food, but to a polite degree.

He has a low-medium energy level. When I’m sitting around being boring doing work, he generally wants to sit or nap nearby. But he also really likes walks – he wants to spend about a full block sniffing with some marking, and then sometimes he’ll power walk even faster than I’m going! He seems fine walking quite awhile as long as the pace is slow. He’s also good in cars.

He prefers being with people then lett alone. He’s definitely a people person. He adores cats and wants to be their friend. He’s broadly extremely non-reactive. He likes other dogs and people, but can be a little shy/aloof when they first meet – he wants to have a couple sniffs and then move on, but then he’ll be extra excited to see you next time.

As stated before, he likes sniffing, walks, naps, pets, attention, food, as well as the occasional belly rub. He isn’t fond stairs – though he can do them if they are very small – to get up something like a curb, he will stop, focus, and then do a running jump. It’s pretty cute.
