Toto has been to Oz and back and is now ready for a relaxing retirement life of warm sunbeam naps, slow walks, and treats. It doesn’t get any better than that! Toto was winking at his fans when his face got stuck that way, and he’s now a perfect model of the winking emoji-the one with tongue out of course.
Here is what his foster has to say:
Toto is very sweet. I have yet to hear a peep out of him-except for an adorable mini snore very now and then. He follows me from room to room and sits in the kitchen if I’m working there. We were out in the backyard the other day and a cat came very close to Toto. Toto immediately started wagging his tail!
If we keep to a pee schedule there are no accidents in the house. He will pee on a pee pad if provided.
After settling in for a week he is perfectly happy being picked up. though he will go up the eight stairs in front of my house by himself, if he tried to go down he would fall. So I carry him up and down stairs most often. He sleeps on the bed with me and my dog and seems to like that very much. He’s fine in the car. Walks are very slow but he will go pretty far-we’ve yet to get to a point where he didn’t want to walk anymore.
With his one remaining eye he will see my movements and he also seems to be able to see the curb on the sidewalk because he always steps up or down without incident. He does not hear but in spite of his hearing he always seems aware of my dog when my dog growls at him when he gets too close. Then Toto just walks away unperturbed. Toto currently needs no medication. He eats well and loves treats.
