Easily rising to the top of the class, Teacher’s Pet is her teacher’s favorite and will likely soon be yours! This gorgeous girl is an interesting mix of Jack Russell Terrier and dachshund, which is a combo you don’t see every day, resulting in a blend of black and tan fur, a pointy snoot, soulful eyes, and huge ears poised to hear her teacher’s every word. Sweet but a bit shy in the chaos of the class, Teacher’s Pet is the perfect pupil with polite manners, and she always has the right answer (provided that the answer is snack time, nap time, or time for a walk!). She’s eager to please and will happily bring you shiny red apples every day, if you take a chance on Teacher’s Pet!
Here’s some notes from her foster :
Teacher’s Pet absolutely loves riding in the car! She is an awesome sidekick, will hang her head out the window, and smile-smile-smile!
She enjoys short to medium length walks with lots of time to smell the flowers. It has really been hit or miss meeting new dogs when she is on leash on walks. Sometimes she sniffs politely and sometimes she barks. She has been indifferent to our three cats. She is capable of stairs, walks down easily, and walks up guided on leash. She is at the beginning of a weight loss journey and her girth still makes going up a bit slow.
Teacher’s Pet has not shown much interest in toys but has really been enjoying some self-selected rawhide bones from a pet store visit. She is an obsessive water drinker, has a reasonably good appetite, and enjoys treats, pets, attention and wagging her tail. I have given her one much needed bath and she was just such an angel. She is very agreeable and easy to handle.
Teacher’s Pet is 100% housebroken with no adjustment period needed and does not seem to mind being left alone for short periods.
