Meet everyone’s favorite snack, Takis, the hypo-allergenic schnauzer with all of the flavor and none of the spice! This sweet potato is such a good boy, and just wants to lean his head on your lap and wag his little nubbin. Gentle, polite, and super-soft, Takis is a real catch, and we can’t wait for you to love him as much as we do.
Here’s some notes from his foster:
Takis has been great during our initial few days of fostering him, and he’s an awesome dog. He is really sweet (look into those eyes!) and very affectionate (look at his little tail wag!).
He took well to coming into our house as a new place and acclimated to our dog with no issues. He has also been settling in more each day and is good at relaxing. Takis has gotten comfortable and has been happy to snuggle up to us on the couch. He sleeps straight through the night with no issues, and seems fully house trained (no accidents, and while we used a belly band at first there didn’t seem to be a need for it). He’s food-motivated and interested, but not aggressive about it (he’ll sit and look up at us eating at the dining table, but makes no attempt to jump up). On his first day he was very hesitant around going up or down our stairs, but with some coaching and practice (and treats!) he has been getting much better and can do it on his own. He has good leash manners (can pull a little, but not hard to correct him) and energy for walking, he did great on a one mile walk we tried and would’ve been happy to go further; he walks well alongside our dog too. No signs of separation anxiety, and after a few times of testing him home alone we’ve come back to find him sleeping very soundly.
All in all he’s a great guy!
