He will paw your hand and when you look down, he gives you the most soulful look! He is a shy little guy but once he knows you, he is generous with his love!
This little one must have known love in his prior life, he has excellent house manners and loves a long nap in the sunshine. He would love a quiet home to spend his next chapter!
Swippy is guesstimated to be 13yrs young and weighs 7lbs.
A note from his foster
He is a very shy guy when it comes to people, and takes a long time to warm up so will need a patient person to give him time. He loves dogs however and perks up whenever he sees one or is around one and would probably do best in a home with other dogs to help learn from them and build his confidence. He is very gentle, but it should be known that he is not a cuddler. He likes his space and independence and is most happy when he can just curl up in his bed and have his “me” time. He does very much love his walks though and gets very excited about them!
Since he’s still adjusting to his new environment he does scare easily and again this will just take the right person to go slowly with him. For example, I’ve trained him to understand that I want to pick him up by saying “up” and holding out my arms. Once he crouches down, he is ready to be picked up. Otherwise, if you catch him by surprise, he will yelp.
He has shown much progress in the 3 weeks that he’s been with me and there was even a moment where he played with me some. I know it’s in him. It will just take time for the real Swippy to come out. He’s coming out of his shell little by little though and it’s been a beautiful thing to be a part of. He has given me a few kisses here and there too. Again, he has all of this in him he just needs someone to help build his confidence and trust to help him fully bloom.
