Just like the actual sunrise, which happens in the sky, Sunrise the dog delivers light and beauty to the world every single day, but right inside your very own house. This sweet, mellow super senior can’t see much, but so what? Maybe she can’t watch Netflix with you, but she can feel your arms holding her, hear your words of love, and smell her delicious dinners. Those are pretty much the best things, after all. Bonus: you can use her ears to open envelopes!
Here’s some notes from her foster:
Fostering Sunrise has been such a delight! She adjusted to being in my home pretty easily, and introducing her to my cat went smoothly. They’ve been getting along well.
Sunrise adjusted to our walking routine and hasn’t had any potty accidents since then. We go for 20-30 minute walks three times a day in our local park. Sunrise has amazing stamina for her age! She really enjoys being outside and slowly strolling, with occasional bursts of trotting. She does well with walking up/down the low-rise stairs in my building, but needs to be carried when there are taller stairs.
Girl loves to eat! Healthy appetite. Sunrise is a social butterfly and enjoys meeting other dogs of all sizes/ages/breeds on our walks. Sunrise absolutely LOVES chest/belly rubs! I discovered that pretty quickly. She will roll over on her back and have her person immediately trained to give her some rubs. Also, her vision impairment doesn’t seem to make a difference at all. She seems to be able to see me and the cat, and hasn’t had any issues with moving about my home.
