Starsky

#8032
Pitt Bull Tripod
Male
Large (50-90 lbs)
Status: Adopted

Starsky has young happy-go-lucky energy and loves getting belly rubs. Despite missing a leg, he loves going for walks and exploring new smells, though he does have to take a few breaks while getting around. He navigates stairs fairly easily but would prefer a home with few stairs. At Muttville he did well meeting other mutts and loves every person! We think he’s potty trained and he’ll even bark to let you know when he needs to go out.

Starsky is estimated to be 8 years young and weighs 56 lbs.

HERE’S WHAT HIS FOSTER HAS TO SAY!

This three-legged wonder is a ball of happiness and love. I have never seen him unhappy for even a moment. He has put up with some warning snaps (for no reason!) from neighbors small dogs. His only demand in life is to rub his belly, pet his head and if he can get a lick in, he’ll take it. His personality is easy going, a trooper on three legs with a keen interest in where you are and when you will return to give him some love. When he wants some attention a few short happy barks let you know he is waiting but nothing excessive or bothersome.

The absence of his leg doesn’t seem to limit him much. He isn’t running with ease (or even running really) but he hops around and gets to where he needs to with all the joy you can imagine in a fur coat.

He is potty trained, food oriented but doesn’t beg when someone is eating nearby, and just really enjoys the close company of his human friends. He is not super other-dog oriented, interested but a short sniff and a smile is about it.

He is not food reactive in the slightest – hands in bowls, pulling him back from food, nothing phases this guy. He can be a little stiff in the morning when he rises but a good supplement will give him some alleviation (you try to hop around on three legs!)

Just the sweetest baby boy and really has sold me that there are grave misconceptions about this mix of breed.
