Sparrow is a nature-loving sweetheart!

This adorable little girl was found as a stray in Contra Costa. She loves the great outdoors, but she would love a home to come back to even more! She’s hoping her future adopters are willing to take her on walks around the neighborhood or on hiking trails, or have a fenced backyard where she can spend some time with them. When the weather’s not that nice, or her family doesn’t feel like being outside anymore, she’d love a comfy couch to curl up on. Sound like the dog for you? Fill out an application today!

Sparrow is 13 years old and weighs 13 pounds.

Here’s what Sparrow’s fosters have to say about her:

Sparrow is gentle, yet has great energy!

It takes her a little while to warm up to you, but she will. She will greet you in the morning & whenever you come back home. She gets very happy to see you! Sparrow likes to walk & can go on long walks. She likes to stop & smell the flowers, but continues to walk. Sparrow likes to play with other dogs at the beach. She loves being in your bed, close to your pillow!

Sparrow is a sweetheart. She is mellow, well mannered, can sit quietly at restaurants & comes when you call. She gets very excited for walks. Sparrow is house trained & has never had an accident indoors. She doesn’t bark unless she wants to play or gets physically hurt. She doesn’t get bothered by other dogs, vacuums, door bells, etc. She is wonderful! She is able to jog briefly, light chasing, energy spurts once a day where she’ll run up & down the hall for 20 seconds. Sparrow is friendly with other dogs. She loves to sleep on the bed & her dog pillow, loves belly rubs & cuddling. She has an adorable tongue that hangs on the left side & an ear that always stays up. Super cute face!
