Mr. Snuffleupagus, or "Snuffy as his friends call him, is a distinguished gentleman with a taste for life’s finer things. He loves a good steak and knows everything there is to know about Scotch Whiskey. But what he is really craving lately is some snuggle-upaguses. Are you the one to offer them?
Here’s what his foster has to say about him:
“Snuffy is as sweet as they come. He gets on well with my dogs (a corgi and a MV alum dachshund/beagle mix), and they get on well with him. He’s not food aggressive, toy aggressive, or aggressive in any other way. But he does stick up for himself when necessary. Mostly, he seems neither timid nor scared, even when the big dogs at the park sniff and follow him. Snuffy enjoys going out and walking around. He pees and poops quickly when you take him out. Like most dogs, he enjoys a good cuddle. He likes being held. You can hold him like a baby and talk to him, and he’ll listen to you. Snuffy likes his bed (and mine too). He naps during the day and sleeps through the night just fine. As far as food goes, Snuffy likes variety. So far, he’s tried Just Food for Dogs (fish and sweet potato recipe), JFFD chicken treats, JFFD pantry food, Natural Balance canned food, Orijen kibble, and No-Hide treats – all with no gastrointestinal issues.
Snuffy copes with his blindness a lot better than most people would. He’s unafraid. His blindness hasn’t stopped him from being curious and active. Snuffy enjoys his walks, on-leash and off-leash. He moves pretty quickly for a little guy and with confidence. You won’t have to worry about him chasing cars or lunging at other dogs. He won’t fuss if you pick him up and carry him off to a safer spot for him to explore. Snuffy goes with the flow. If you want him to be a lap dog, he’ll be a lap dog. If you want to take him for a short walk, he’ll be happy to go for a walk. If you (and your friends) want to pet and love him up, he won’t say “no” to that either.
I’ve been taking Snuffy to A Well Adjusted Pet for twice weekly appointments. He’s been getting shockwave therapy and immediately took to walking on the underwater treadmill like a pro. Snuffy’s been groomed, and the groomer said that he was so easy. Snuffy is a really compliant and gentle dog.
Snuffy has been a great houseguest, and I’ll be happy when he finds his forever home with the loving person. If you have a gentle heart, you and Snuffy will be soulmates"
