Named for the gorgeous charcoal gray, almost blue of her fur, Smudge embodies all that you’d expect a Smudge to be. A fantastic Frenchie with squishable cheeks and the oinky, growly sounds you’d expect from a piglet, this little lady is a polite and friendly potato who gets along well with the other dogs. Despite her chubby physique, Smudge does prefer some active pursuits, such as fetch, and she will enthusiastically chase after tennis balls for a good cardio session. It’s fun to watch, too – as a Frenchie, Smudge has a dynamic waddle style of walking that will completely captivate you. Smudge is a spunky gal who has the looks and energy of a much younger pup. She loves medium to long walks, jumping onto the couch to snuggle, eating, and riding in the car. Smudge sleeps right through the night, delighting her roommates with her musical snores and snorts.
She would love to be the center of a person’s world with no other distractions, though I think she would tolerate a canine sibling with a more casual personality. When she decides you are her person, there’s no arguing with her!
Smudge walks pretty well on leash though occasionally will bark at humans if they look “unusual” (like wearing a big hat or talking loudly on their phone). She stares at dogs who pass by but is easily distracted with a treat and some encouragement. She’s is doing great with housetraining. Smudge gets along great with men, women, and kids aged 12+ (we have not tested her with younger ones or with cats).
