We have a very active black and tan long-haired chihuahua called Slater with us for surf week, and this little guy is always on the move! If you’d like to take a good look at his especially adorable face, you’ll have to pick him up (bonus points for snuggles!), because this little guy likes running around! Hey, you have to do some cardio to perform your best on the waves, so he’s got to keep it going. Surprisingly, this marvelous mini mutt was found as a stray, and we cannot believe no one scooped him up – one look at his face and you’ll be in love! If you have room in your heart for a charming chi guy with lots of love, Slater would love to meet you today!

When Slater gets happy, he stretches his little paws out and does a little happy dance. Depending on where you’re petting him, he might flip on his belly. Don’t let his smallness fool you because he is quite active. During the day, he will map out the entire perimeter of your floor plan with sniffs. He may take a short nap, but as soon as he recharges, he will get back on his surveying work. On his walks, he is just happy to follow your foot steps. He is friendly with other dogs and humans and doesn’t notice bikes or other wheels on the road. We don’t Slater’s past life, but we imagine he’s never really had treats before. He didn’t really know what cheese was. He also gets quite anxious when he is gated in one confined space, and he’s working towards building trust that he won’t get abandoned.
